At the recently concluded Computex there were a number of Windows 8 tablets, computers, ultrabooks, and what are really in-between devices shown. One of those in-betweeners is the Lenovo Ideapad Yoga. With a screen size of 13.3 inches, it is big for a tablet. It has a keyboard, which is not detachable. Rather, the screen flips around to fold onto the keyboard. The IdeaPad Yoga will be made available in different configurations with different specs, including Intel Core i3/i5/i7 Ivy Bridge processors, up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of SSD storage. The ports include two USB, an HDMI port, an SD/SDHC/SDXC card reader and a 3.5-mm headphone jack.
The 10-point capacitive touchscreen will have a resolution of 1600 x 900, while its solid hinges allow it to fold into several positions. For example, you can flip the keyboard all the way back to use the Yoga as a tablet, lay it horizontally with the screen facing vertically forward to watch movies, or flip the device into “tent mode” as shown above. The device should be available this October, coinciding with Window 8′s release. Price may be a little steep, over $1,000.
