StumbleUpon is an application that’s a bit hard to put into a category. It’s kind of a search engine, but not really. One thing it is, for sure, is popular.
Between 5-10 million downloads on the Google Play store. Available in the iTunes store. Also as an add-on for Firefox and Chrome, as well as the Windows 8 store. So if you like this application, you can have it on pretty much any device you own.
Well, what exactly does it do? First, you have to create a free account-so log in with Facebook, or create an account with a minimum of information. Once you’re in, there are a large number of interests you can check off. Be sure to have the patience to go through the list, it will make your results better.
Well, now you’re ready to stumble. And here’s where it gets interesting. Based on your choices, websites that you likely never would have found by yourself will be presented. For me, the vast majority are very much sites that I like, but never would have sought out.

The results are so random, yet seem to be very well matched to the user, based on what you choose as interests. With a very clean, simple interface, and the ability to be on every mobile device plus your desktop, this has the potential to be a total productivity killer. But along the way, you will find some really cool websites.
